UNIQLO UTGP '17

print, production and installation

The Project

Professional artists and amateurs alike used T-shirts as their canvas in the worldwide UTGP design contest. This year’s theme: Nintendo! Mario creator, Shigeru Miyamoto, and the Nintendo special judges team selected designs from a record number of 16,000 submissions.

We worked with Uniqlo on the Nintendo themed takeover of London’s flagship store on Oxford St. Customers are welcomed into the store by the 4m high green pipe with a giant Super Mario leaping out… an instantly recognisable site. A combination of printed vinyl, double sided window graphics, free-standing character cut outs, printed textile and 3d models were produced to create a fun and exciting retail experience. Every element of the installation was designed to fit with existing store fixtures, forming a vibrant and coherent retail space.

The project was definitely a trip down memory lane for the team here at Sabre!
